Las estimaciones de los aportes de fosforo y nitrogeno por los tributarios, la composicion ionica mayoritaria, asi como los tiempos de residencia de las aguas, junto a las caracteristicas morfometricas de los embalses y el regimen pluviometrico, afectan de manera determinante a la calidad fisico-quimica de las aguas, a la presencia de hierro y manganeso y al desarrollo de organismos planctonicos, aspectos basicos en la depuracion de las aguas para el suministro.  el balance de fosforo en los embalses permite mostrar los diferentes comportamientos de estos en situaciones de eutrofia y mesotrofia, actuando el sedimento como sumidero o fuente de fosforo cuando se superan, o no se alcanzan, las cargas internas de este nutriente.  el analisis sedimentologico refleja las diferencias en la distribucion de la materia organica y mineralogia del sedimento. Los procesos sedimentarios muestran magnitudes diversas en los embalses estudiados, asi como las concentraciones de fosforo apatitico o ligado a metales.  el empleo de modelos limnologicos, asi como el estudio estadistico de las series de datos, desde 1988 a 1992, permite analizar las variaciones temporales, y obtener los factores determinantes del comportamiento de los embalses, desarrollando ecuaciones de eutrofia que permiten valorar la evolucion interanual y el estatus trofico, pudiendo de esta manera actuar sobre los parametros que afectan a la eutrofia.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos
