Entre las secuencias sinteticas que posibilitan el acceso a 3-arilisoquinolinas c4 sustituidas se ha optado por las que transcurren a traves de arilbencilcetonas alfa-alquiladas, cuya preparacion se ha llevado a cabo promoviendo una c-alquilacion sobre el metileno de la correspondiente desoxibenzoina.  los resultados obtenidos durante el desarrollo de la labor investigadora asi como su discusion posterior permiten concluir que la metodolog\u00eda desarrollada ha resultado adecuada al haberse podido acceder a los tetraciclos objetivo con diversos patrones de sustitucion. En particular, al acometer reacciones de ciclacion intramolecular en medio acido sobre 3-arilisoquinolinas c4-alilsustituidas se han obtenido 12-metilbenzo (c) fenantridinas de forma altamente diastereoselectiva y con excelentes rendimientos. Por otra parte, se ha abierto una nueva via de sintesis de 13-metilprotoberberinas a traves de la formacion del anillo b en la ultima etapa de la secuencia sintetica.  finalmente, la presente tesis doctoral aporta nuevas contribuciones a la sintesis de 3-arilisoquinolinas c4-funcionalizadas. En efecto, se puede afirmar que el empleo de iminas generadas a partir de desoxibenzoinas alfa-sustituidas permite acceder de forma facil a los correspondientes derivados 1,2-diariletilaminicos y
