Un destacado subconjunto de sistemas elin, de gran inter\u00e9s pr\u00e1ctico, son los as\u00ed llamados sistemas de compansi\u00f3n, en los cuales las se\u00f1ales internamente presentan excursiones muy reducidas en comparaci\u00f3n con las que experimentan las se\u00f1ales de entrada y salida. la labor acometida en este sentido puede ser dividida en dos partes:  * la primera parte, compuesta en buena medida por los cap\u00edtulos 2 y 3, ofrece una descripaci\u00f3n general en t\u00e9rminos de variables de estado de los sistemas elin, as\u00ed como la propuesta de un nuevo m\u00e9todo de s\u00edntesis de estos sistemas basado en la sustituci\u00f3n componente a compoenente de los bloques de un prototipo lineal externamente equivalente a los mismos. tal estrategia de s\u00edtnesis permite evitar la extrema complejidad de anteriores propuestas basadas en la manipulaci\u00f3n algebraica de ecuaciones de estado o ecuaciones diferenciales descriptivas del comportamiento del sistema.  * la segunda parte, correspondiente en esencial al resto de la memoria, acomete la realizaci\u00f3n pr\u00e1ctica de los sistemas de compansi\u00f3n de mayor relevancia: sistemas  log-domain (basados en la caracter\u00edstica exponencial obtenida a partir de transistores bipolares o mos operando en inversi\u00f3n d\u00e9bil), sistemas de tipo sin (basados en la caracter\u00edstica no lineal de tipo seno hiperb\u00f3lico obtenida a partir de los dispositivos activos antes citados ) y sistemas del tipo square-root domain (basados en la caracter\u00edstica cuadr\u00e1tica que puede
