Ambos conjuntos de datos se complementan, de forma que las curvas de dispersi\u00f3n condicionan la velocidad de fondo del medio de propagaci\u00f3n y las funciones receptores superponen los detalles a este modelo promedio.  como resultado, la nueva metodolog\u00eda produce modelos relativamente simples con una cantidad minima de variaciones rapidas de velocidad. La inversi\u00f3n se plantea en terminos de un proceso iterativo de minimos cuadrados amortiguados donde se posibilita la especificacion a priori de la suavidad del modelo, despues de equilibrar la influencia relativa de los conjuntos de datos respecto del numero de puntos y unidades fisicas que los caracterizan. la metodolog\u00eda propuesta se ilustra mediante la inversi\u00f3n de simulaciones
