Guadalupe <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Esta tesis doctoral explora la sintesis y separacion d enuevas moleculas atropisomericamente puras, que combinan la quiraldiad axial, debida a la rotacion impedida en torno a un enlace s encillo, con la presencia de centros quirales suminstrados por un fragmento de un carbohidrato. Se obtienen asi derivados de las imidazoldina-2-onas y 2-tionas de estructuras monociclicas y biciclicas como productos de la condensacion de la 2-amino-2-desoxialdosas con isocianatos e isotiocianatos.  se hace un trabajo bibliografico exhaustivo de los antecedentes de la atropisomeria y tambien de esta reaccion de condensacion.  estos compuestos heterociclicos sintetizados son susceptibles de presentar atropisomeria cuando presentan las modifiaciones estructurales adecuadas. en concreto, se han podido aislar los atropisomeros de aquellos dervados que presentan dos sustituyentes distintos en las posiciones orto del anillo aromatiaco. La asignacion de la estereoqimica axial de los atropisomeros separados ha sido posible gracias al estudio de sus datos espectroscopicos y de difraccion de rayos x. Tambien se ha podido determinar la barrera de rotacion para los rotameros estudiados, tanto experimentalmente, mediante resonancias magnetica nuclear dinamica, como de forma terorica, a traves de calculos de mecanica molecular (mm2).
