Las familias estudiadas han sido tr2bacuo5, tr2banio5, a2cuo4, tr2nio4 y trmo3. Este estudio calorimetrico se ha completado con la realizacion de medidas magneticas, dispersion inelastica de neutrones y espectroscopia optica en estas familias se han determinado comportamientos magneticos muy diferentes como son el ordenamiento magnetico tridimensional en el bi2cuo4, interacciones magneticas confinadas en planos en el caso de pr2cuo4, gd2cuo4, tr2nio4 y tr2bacuo5, sistemas unidimensionales como tr2banio5 y finalmente ordenamiento magnetico simultaneo con una transicion metal-aislante en trmo3. En cada familia se han calculado los parametros termodinamicos, constantes de interaccion y se han comparado con las predicciones de modelos teoricos, de acuerdo con las caracteristicas estructurales y el analisis de las posibles vias de interaccion magnetica. Se ha estudiado la influencia de las dos subredes magneticas, matal de transicion y tierra rara.  para realizar este estudio de calorimetria se han utilizado tecnicas ya disponibles como son la calorimetria adiabatica y dsc, y se ha implementado la tecnica de calorimetria ac en un amplio rango de temperatura, 2 k-525 k, mediante el desarrollo de dos instalaciones complementarias. Se han calibrado y presentan como principal ventaja, la posibilidad de medir la capacidad calorifica de una muestra de masa del orden del mg con una alta sensibilidad en cp del orden del +-
