Ambas cuevas fueron ocupadas durante el paleolitico medio por grupos neandertales. El estudio morfologico y cuantitativo (n. De fitolitos producidos en una especie determinada)de los fitolitos permiten identificar el tipo de combustible utilizado para los fuegos y por lo tanto inferir su posible funcionalidad. en tabum los resultados de los dos niveles analizados mostraron la presencia de fuegos de car\u00e1cter antrop\u00f3logico con la utilizaci\u00f3n de madera como principal combustible utilizado. En kebara los resultados indicaron que existe una selecci\u00f3n en la recolecci\u00f3n de plantas utilizadas para la realizaci\u00f3n del fuego y para otras actividades. Tambi\u00e9n mostro que los fitolitos no son bien conservados cuando se encuentran expuestos durante largos periodos en niveles altamente alcalinos.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de
