Se ha aislado y caracterizado el gen ga 20-oxidasa en citrange carrizo, un enzima de la ruta de bios\u00edntesis de las giberelinas. Se determin\u00f3 in vitro la actividad 20-oxidasa del cdna aislado y posteriormente se realiz\u00f3 una caracterizaci\u00f3n de la expresi\u00f3n de este gen en distintos tejidos de carrizo y el efecto que tiene la temperatura cevd y las aplicaciones de paclobutrazol y gd3 sobre los niveles de expresi\u00f3n del mismo.  posteriormente se estudi\u00f3 el efecto de la sobreexpresi\u00f3n del gen ga 20-oxidasa de carrizo sobre la altura de plantas de nicotiana tabacum. para ello se transformaron plantas de tabaco de la especie anterior con una construcci\u00f3n dise\u00f1ada de forma que se sobreexpres\u00f3 el gen 20-oxidasa de carrizo.
