Se han realizado distintos trabajos de campo entre los a\u00f1os 1993-1997, que han permitido recoger abundante material, haib\u00e9ndose identificado un total de 870 exiccatas, que corresponden a 100 t\u00e1xones (92 especies y 8 variedades) de myxomycetes.  este trabajo representa el primer estudio extenso acerca de la clase myxomycetes, que se realiza en la pen\u00ednsula baja california. Sin embargo, a\u00fan falta estudiar con m\u00e1s detalle algunas zonas del estado de baja california, tales como la sierra de ju\u00e1rez y de san pedro m\u00e1rtir , donde en la \u00e9poca de deshielo podr\u00edan aparecer especies niv\u00edcolas interesantes, o bien especies comunes de amplia distribuci\u00f3n no recogidas a\u00fan.  los 100 t\u00e1xones recogidos en la pen\u00ednsula de baja california representan el 38% del total de los myxomycetes citados actualmente de m\u00e9xico (263) y el 14,5% de los myxomycetes conocidos a nivel mundial (690, hawksworth, et al. (1995). Los 26 g\u00e9neros presentes, representan el 59% de los g\u00e9neros citados actualmente en m\u00e9xico (44), y el 42,6% de lso 61 g\u00e9neros reconocidos en estos ecosistemas.  todo el material ha sido estudiado tal y como se detalla en el apartado de material y m\u00e9todos, se ha descrito y comentado y ha sido fotografiado usando el microscopio electr\u00f3ncio de barrido, con la t\u00e9cnica del punto cr\u00edtico.
