En ellos se ha encontrado una imanacion remanente a campos incluso menores que el campo magnetico terrestre.  para estudiar y determinar el origen de este comportamiento anomalo se han utilizado distintas tecnicas experimentales como la difraccion de rayos x sobre monocristal, difraccion de neutrones sobre muestras pulverulentas, calorimetria a.C.
