Este cambio en el espectro lum\u00ednico podr\u00eda tener consecuencias negativas sobre los organismos de la tierra, como la macroalgas.  dependiendo de la especie y la estaci\u00f3n del a\u00f1o la sensibilidad del crecimiento y la fotos\u00edntesis de especies de algas intermareales var\u00eda. Un posible incremento en radiaci\u00f3n uvb podr\u00eda disminuir el crecimiento de ciertas especies, si bien las especies intermareales presentan una alta capacidad de aclimataci\u00f3n a cambios lum\u00ednicos que les permitir\u00eda adaptarse a ellos.  los estadios microsc\u00f3picos del ciclo de vida son m\u00e1s sensibles que los macrosc\u00f3picos. En relaci\u00f3n a su desarrollo las diferencias interespec\u00edficas en la sensibilidad a la radiaci\u00f3n uv podrian explicarse por la distribuci\u00f3n vertical de las
