Se propone y valida experimentalmente, con un simulador dise\u00f1ado para tal prop\u00f3sito, una modificaci\u00f3n del algoritmo original de kohonen,en la que se restringe la resoluci\u00f3n de los pesos y las entradas, y de algunos par\u00e1metros de aprendizaje, con objeto de simplificar la circuiter\u00eda necesaria para implementar el algoritmo. En la arquitectura propuesta, la dimensi\u00f3n del mapa, la topolog\u00eda de la vecindad y la funci\u00f3n de vecindad son programables. su dise\u00f1o modular permite ampliar el n\u00famero de neuronas y\/o de sinapsis por neurona mediante la interconexi\u00f3n de varios neurochips, para alcanzar un paralelismo mixto a nivel de neurona y de sinapsis. Para optimizar las prestaciones en sistemas compuestos por un n\u00famero fijo de neurochips, el n\u00famero de neuronas y de sinapsis f\u00edsicamente implementadas es reconfigurable. en relaci\u00f3n con esta arquitectura se han dise\u00f1ado dos prototipos integrados. se han evaluado las prestaciones de la arquitectura tanto para el caso de reces totalmente implementadas, como para
