Las razonez de su importancia y de su actualidad radican en que el estudio de esta relaci\u00f3n est\u00e1 \u00edntimamente asociado a las dos cuestiones econ\u00f3micas m\u00e1s relevantes, la eficiencia y la equidad.  el objetivo es especificar una funci\u00f3n de ganancias para estimar la tasa de rendimiento de la educaci\u00f3n en el caso de los asalariados espa\u00f1oles; aportando como innovaci\u00f3n el uso de un panel de datos y la introducci\u00f3n del an\u00e1lisis de cohortes, conel objeto de comprobar si este instrumento de an\u00e1lisis aporta informaci\u00f3n relevante sobre dicha tasa de rendimiento. para ello se utiliza la base de datos anonimizada en la encuesta continua de presupuestos familiares de los a\u00f1os de 1985 a 1995, ambos inclusive.  en la estimaci\u00f3n se parte del modelo de la funci\u00f3n de ganancias propuesto por j. Mincer y se amplia conlos elementos mencionados. Como conclusi\u00f3n principal se\u00f1alemos que los resultados obtenidos al incluir las cohortes como variables explicativas permiten considerar que el an\u00e1lisis de cohortes es un instrumento v\u00e1lido en la especificaci\u00f3n de la funci\u00f3n de ganancias, en primer lugar porque aporta informqaci\u00f3n relevante sobre el comporamiento diferencial de los rendimientos de la eduaci\u00f3n de las sucesivas generaciones y en segundo lugar porque incrementa la capacidad explicativa del modelo. estos resultados validan la hip\u00f3tesis inicial acerca de que, adem\u00e1s de las caracter\u00edsticas educativas del individuo, la fecha de incorporaci\u00f3n al mercado de trabajo es un factor determinante d elos rendimientos de la sinversiones en capital
