La sequia caus\u00f3 una disminuci\u00f3n significativa de la eficiencia relativa del fotosistema i asociada con un aumento de la formaci\u00f3n de zeaxantina y disipaci\u00f3n termica. Los tocoferoles, carotenoides y diterpenos del tipo abietano tuvieron un papel destacado en la proteccion de la planta frente al estr\u00e9s. Los niveles de tocoferol aumentaron en respuesta a la sequia en las tres especies, y se observ\u00f3 una disminuci\u00f3n al mediodia en las dos especies m\u00e1s suceptibles al estr\u00e9s oxidativo (lavandula y melissa). La sequia provoc\u00f3 una disminuci\u00f3n de los niveles de carotenoides no reciclables (luteina, beta-caroteno y neoxantina). las formas reducidas de diterpenos (acido carn\u00f3sico y carnosol) disminuyeron en respuesta al d\u00e9ficit h\u00eddrico y alta radiaci\u00f3n, mientras que las formas m\u00e1s oxidadas (rosmanol, isorosmanol, 11,12-di-o-metilisorosmanol) aumentaron en concentraci\u00f3n.
