De las especies nativas: 3 son nuevas 31 end\u00e9micas, la mayor parte son dulceacu\u00edcolas y de origen tropical y de am\u00e9rica central y minoritariamente son de ecosistemas costeros. Tambi\u00e9n se realiz\u00f3 tanto la clasificaci\u00f3n taxon\u00f3mica y ecolog\u00eda como la descripci\u00f3n de cada especie de la fauna ictica nativa.  estudio de sistem\u00e1tica molecular.- En el subgenero profundulus en el sur de m\u00e9xico y guatemala existen 6 especies; se ratifica el origen antiguo de la especiaci\u00f3n, este subg\u00e9nero no se deriv\u00f3 de p. Guatemalensis, la cuenca del rio mixteco-balsas captur\u00f3 rios de la cuenta atoyac, lo que indica una conexi\u00f3n reciente entre ambas cuencas, y la cuenca rio atoyac probablemente en el cenozoico estuvo formada por tres cuencias hidrol\u00f3gicas. en la familia characidae en oaxaca existen 3 especies y el sistema hidrol\u00f3gico del rio balsas captur\u00f3 rios de la cuenca del r\u00edo papaloapan a fines del terciario.  estudio de las comunidades de peces.- Se obtuvieron 4 variables ambientales (4 ejes principales) que explican la mayor parte de la variaci\u00f3n de la composici\u00f3n de esta ictiofauna con un alto porcentaje de fiabilidad: la vertiente (eje 1), la altitud (eje 2), la anchura del rio (eje 3) y la cuenca (eje 4).  estudio biogeografico.- Se tienen 3 suprarregiones bioticas (pacifico, mixteca y golfo de mexico) y 5 regiones bioticas y 21 corotipos.  la distribucion actual de los peces de oaxaca es resultado de la historia geol\u00f3gica de la
