P. R. Ha sido utilizado como herramienta para estudiar el orden de los cristales liquidos convencionales. Para ello, se introducian sondas paramagneticas disueltas en los compuestos mesogenos y se obtenia informacion sobre algunos modos dinamicos anisotropos a traves del efecto de la relajacion por movimiento en el espectro de e. P. R.  en esta tesis se han indagado las posibilidades de estudio mediante e.P.R. De los materiales metalomesogenos paramagneticos que han aparecido ultimamente. En estos compuestos es posible estudiar el orden de los componentes sin necesidad de usar sondas externas. La interaccion de intercambio magnetico propia de algunos de estos nuevos compuestos permite obtener informacion adicional sobre el orden en las mesofases. Asi mismo, se puede estudiar el orden en las fases de compuestos con formas moleculares menos simetricas que las de los mesogenos clasicos.  se ha concluido que el e.P.R. Es una herramienta adecuada para el estudio de metalomesogenos, tanto para resolver problemas estructurales como para obtener informacion sobre el orden en las mesofases.
