La entrada en vigor de la directiva 91\/217\/cee sobre tratamientos de aguas residuales urbanas, ha obligado a adoptar las medidas necesarias para reducir la contaminaci\u00f3n de las aguas continentales, de estuarios y costeras. Sin embargo, a pesar de lo anterior a\u00fan muchos cauces presentan una apreciable contaminaci\u00f3n microbiol\u00f3gica, siendo necesaria una permanente vigilancia a fin de conservar este recurso. En esta memoria se presenta un estudio microbiol\u00f3gico en el tiempo de doce depuradoras de aguas residuales urbanas de galicia, que representan el 15% de las actualmente en funcionamiento. adem\u00e1s, en cinco de ellas se estudia la toxicidad letal con v.
