No sondos expresiones simultaneas del mismo fenomeno sino dos fenomenos distintos e independientes. Estos cambios espectrales son debidos a alteraciones en la orientacion relativa de los pigmentos (puesto que en este caso se observaria desplazamientos variables entre las bandas de absorcion y el cd). Los experimentos raman indican que son debidos a la ruptura de, probablemente, un unico puente de hidrogeno entre el grupo acetilo-2 de una de las dos bch1850 del dimero y un residuo aminoacidica de la cadena x. Estos cambios producidos por el ldao poseian ser debidos al cambio conformacional que provoca en la estructura de la proteina. El nac1, por el contrario, podria reemplazar el puente de hidrogeno alterando solo la conformacion de la cadena lateral del aminoacido implicado, por lo que estos cambios tan locales y restringidos no se reflejarian en el espectro de uvcd.  las variaciones en el estado de agregacion tampoco afectan a las propiedades espectrales la antena lhii de ectothiorhodospira sp. Ni de la antena lhi de rs. Rubrum.  la intensidad de la se\u00f1al de cd de b800 se puede simular satisfactoriamente tanto tomando como modelo un dimero o una estructura en anillo. Sin embargo, esta ultima es la que mejor consigue simular la ausencia de desplazamiento entre el maximo de la banda de absorcion y el centro de la se\u00f1al de cd. Las imagenes obtenidas a traves de microscopia electronica indican que la muestra de lhii de ectothiorhodospira sp. Estaria formada por un octamero, es decir, 8 dimeros este dato corresponde tambien con los valores obtenidos mediante polarizacion de fluorescencia excitada selectivamente), pero la simetria encaja mas con uan estructura del tipo        que una     . Esto contrasta con rp.
