La investigaci\u00f3n desarrollada en esta tesis, pretende poner de relieve algunas de las dimensiones socialmente m\u00e1s potentes y tambi\u00e9n m\u00e1s f\u00e9rtiles de esta relaci\u00f3n, como son las que se establecen entre la g\u00e9nesis y desarrollo de una identidad nacional gallega desde los or\u00edgenes del galleguismo a mediados del siglo pasado hasta la guerra civil y el desarrollo de un concepto de \u00abmusica gallega\u00bb generosamente alimentado en las tradiciones hist\u00f3rica y oral, y cultivado en los textos est\u00e9ticos y musicol\u00f3gicos de los autores de aquel per\u00edodo vinculados al galleguismo en mayor o menor medida. El autor, realiza un amplia reflexi\u00f3n te\u00f3rica sobre los conceptos de nacionalismo y, m\u00e1s concretamente, de nacionalismo musical en el contexto ib\u00e9rico de aquel per\u00edodo, y seguidamente, un recorrido cr\u00edtico a trav\u00e9s de los textos de la \u00e9poca, en los que van fraguando los s\u00edmbolos en los que se apoya una versi\u00f3n etnicista para la m\u00fasica gallega: desde las pioneras caracterizaciones de manuel murgu\u00eda, hasta las formulaciones del nacionalismo maduro de los a\u00f1os 20 y 30 de nuestro siglo, pasando por las aportaciones decisivas de los autores eclesi\u00e1sticos ideol\u00f3gicamente vinculados al galleguismo tradicionalista. El estudio incluye una aproximaci\u00f3n a algunas de las dimensiones pr\u00e1cticas en que se proyecta esta relaci\u00f3n entre m\u00fasica e ideolog\u00eda, como puede ser el caso del coralismo
