La revisi\u00f3n de la historia de la recepci\u00f3n del modernismo y el an\u00e1lisis de los paradigmas cr\u00edticos formalista y posmodernista pone de manifiesto el peculiar reduccionismo que ha existido con respecto a las visiones m\u00e1s aceptadas de la est\u00e9tica modernista. Este an\u00e1lisis pretende redescrubrir el car\u00e1cter de subversi\u00f3n de las pr\u00e1cticas literarias modernistas que acabaron siendo asimiladas a un discurso formalista, esteticista y desideologizado, para reivindicar su car\u00e1cter, de \u00abresistencia\u00bb, desde los discursos cr\u00edticos disponibles en el momento contempor\u00e1neo. La propuesta de relectura de a portrait of the artist as a young man al hilo de las discusiones te\u00f3ricas previas cuestiona su ya tradicional canozinaci\u00f3n como manifiesto sobre el modernismo. como se intenta demostrar, esta novela de joyce nos invita a recapacitar sobre una conflictiva relaci\u00f3n entre arte y realidad, que el propio texto dramatiza oblig\u00e1ndonos a la producci\u00f3n
