En el presente trabajo se han aislado tilacoides y fracciones granales (psiim) de beta vilgaris l. Y se ha caracterizado la composicion pigmentaria y polipeptidica de las mismas. Por otra parte se han estudiado los cambios inducidos en dichas fracciones por la dificiencia de fe y las caracteristicas de un mutante deficiente en chl b que hemos denominado lcm. Asimismo se ha investigado la organizacion en complejos pigmento-proteina del psiim de cada uno de los materiales objeto de estudio. Los principales cambios observados en tilacoides en respuesta a la deficiencia de fe son el aumento del contenido relativo de pigmentos vaz y la reduccion de la relacion psi\/psii. Los tilacoides de plantas lcm presentan un menor contenido relativo de los pigmentos de antena, una distinta composicion lipidica y un menor numero de apilamientos por grana que el control.  el psiim de plantas control se ha mostrado constituido por 8 complejos pigmentados distintos mientras que el psiim de plantas deficientes en hierro da lugar solo a 5 fracciones, desapareciendo determinados complejos mixtos antena-complejo interno.
