Es un trabajo que, adem\u00e1s de una introducci\u00f3n y un pre\u00e1mbulo general, est\u00e1 estructurado en cuatro partes. En la primera hemos dado una definici\u00f3n de la met\u00e1fora como imagen po\u00e9tica destacando sus motivaciones, sus mecanismos, sus funciones y aleda\u00f1os. En la segunda parte hemos dado una visi\u00f3n concisa sobre el simbolismo franc\u00e9s haciendo hincapi\u00e9 sobre los elementos que tendr\u00e1n influencia en el modernismo colombiano. En la tercera parte nos hemos dedicado al estudio de la vanguardia colombiana teniendo en cuenta el uso de la met\u00e1fora obedeciendo a la situaci\u00f3n interior del pa\u00eds y a las influencias literarias exteriores: surrealismo, futurismo, dada\u00edsmo etc., Porque ser\u00e1n los factores a trav\u00e9s de los cuales se celebrarba el uso de la met\u00e1fora o se optar\u00e1 por otra imagen o figura. La cuarta parte trata del nada\u00edsmo, su aparici\u00f3n, su g\u00e9nesis literaria, su originalidad, los sustratos y los adstratos de este grupo vanguardista po\u00e9tico. Tambi\u00e9n hemos realizado un estudio anal\u00edtico de la poes\u00eda de este grupo averiguando la presencia de la met\u00e1fora y su desaparici\u00f3n cuando est\u00e1 reemplazada por otra imagen. Bas\u00e1ndonos en el estructuralismo ruso hemos dado un balance respecto a esta poes\u00eda investigando en su literariedad y su poeticidad.
