El estudio cl\u00ednico se ha realizado en pacientes con diabetes mellitus (dm) tipo 1 y controles sanos, siendo su objetivo estudiar las relaciones entre la composici\u00f3n en ag de los fosfol\u00edpidos y las lipoprote\u00ednas s\u00e9ricas con la ingesta de alimentos, as\u00ed como con los fen\u00f3menos cl\u00ednicos de la dm. Las principales conclusiones han sido:  &#8211; la variabilidad debida al tejido es mucho mayor que la atribuible a la dieta para la mayor parte de los ag, con la salvedad del \u00e1cido palm\u00edtico y algunos n-3 de cadena larga.  &#8211; el comportamiento del tejido y su sensibilidad frente a la manipulaci\u00f3n diet\u00e9tica, fu\u00e9 caracter\u00edstica para cada tejido.  &#8211; en humanos los ag de los fosfol\u00edpidos y de las lipoprote\u00ednas s\u00e9ricas reflejan el tipo de grasa de la dieta, pero los niveles de cada ag no dependen s\u00f3lo de su presencia en la ingesta sino de la proporci\u00f3n n-6\/n-9 y n-6\/n-3 de la dieta.  &#8211; los pacientes con dm presentan un patr\u00f3n de ag diferente al de personas no diab\u00e9ticas.
