Su principal caracter\u00edstica reside en su elevada citotoxicidad, derivada de su capacidad para inactivar de forma irreversible los ribosomas de todos los organismos estudiados hasta la fecha.  esta tesis trata de la aplicaci\u00f3n de la t\u00e9cnica de resonancia magn\u00e9tica nuclear para la obtenci\u00f3n de informaci\u00f3n estructural, din\u00e1mica y electrost\u00e1tica de la alfa-sarcina, a un nivel de resoluci\u00f3n at\u00f3mico.  en primer lugar se ha obtenido la estructura 3d en disoluci\u00f3n de la alfa-sarcina por rmn con un elevado nivel de resoluci\u00f3n. Las estructura obtenida es de gran calidad ya que est\u00e1 de acuerdo con toda la informaci\u00f3n experimental. El elevado grado de precisi\u00f3n de la estructura ha permitido identificar las interacciones que definen el plegamiento de la enzima (enlaces de hidr\u00f3geno, puentes salinos, n\u00facleos hidr\u00f3fobos&#8230; Etc), algunas de las cuales podr\u00edan ser importantes para la estabilidad termodin\u00e1mica de la prote\u00edna. La estructura de la alfa-sarcina se ha comparado con otras de ribonucleasas relacionadas, lo que ha permitido la identificaci\u00f3n de los residuos que forman parte del centro activo del enzima.  en un segundo apartado se ha caracterizado la din\u00e1mica de la prote\u00edna mediante la medida de par\u00e1metros de relajaci\u00f3n de 15n a dos campos magn\u00e9ticos (600 mhz y 750 mhz). El ajuste conjunto de toda la informaci\u00f3n ha permitido caracterizar la din\u00e1mica de rotaci\u00f3n de la mol\u00e9cula. La alfa-sarcina se comporta como un rotor anisotr\u00f3pico con simetr\u00eda axial con un tiempo de correlaci\u00f3n de   7.7 ns. El an\u00e1lisis de la din\u00e1mica interna est\u00e1 en general de acuerdo con la precisi\u00f3n de la estructura obtenida. Diversas regiones muestran procesos din\u00e1micos lentos respecto al movimiento de rotaci\u00f3n de la mol\u00e9cula.
