La inhibici\u00f3n de la bios\u00edntesis proteica es el par\u00e1metro bioqu\u00edmico que mejor correlaciona con la recuperaci\u00f3n del tejido isqu\u00e9mico puesto que s\u00f3lo se revierte en las regiones cerebrales que sobreviven al da\u00f1o isqu\u00e9mico (corteza cerebral) permaneciendo inhibida en las regiones que sufren una muerte neuronal retardada (regi\u00f3n ca1 del hipocampo).  puesto que conocer los mecanismos implicados en la inhibici\u00f3n de la s\u00edntesis de prote\u00ednas es fundamental para la recuperaci\u00f3n del tejido isqu\u00e9mico, \u00e9ste ha sido el objetivo del presente trabajo.  para ello se ha utilizado un modelo de isquemia cerebral global y transitoria en la rata, obteni\u00e9ndose las siguientes conclusiones:  1- la s\u00edntesis de prote\u00ednas se inhibe durante la reperfusi\u00f3n sangu\u00ednea, estudiada desde su inicio hasta las 6 horas de reperfusi\u00f3n, al nivel de la fase de iniciaci\u00f3n.  2,- en la isquemia se produce la desfosforilaci\u00f3n de la prote\u00edna 4e-bp1 lo que origina un aumento del complejo eif4e-4e-bp1 y la disminuci\u00f3n del complejo activo 4f.  3,- la fosforilaci\u00f3n del eif2alfa se origina al inicio de la reperfusi\u00f3n sangu\u00ednea por la p\u00e9rdida del equilibrio entre la actividad eif2alfa-quinasa\/fosfatasa debido a la inhibici\u00f3n de la actividad alfa-fosfatasa. Este mecanismo, por el que se inhibe la actividad del eif2b, es reversible y com\u00fan entre regiones de diferente vulnerabilidad isqu\u00e9mica.  4,- la actividad s6-quinasa se inhibe en la isquemia
