Thummi tiene 176 pb. Otra caracter\u00edstica del tel\u00f3mero de c. Thumi es su capacidad de activarse por choque t\u00e9rmico. a trav\u00e9s del estudio de la organizaci\u00f3n telom\u00e9rica se han buscado las posibles bases moleculares del fen\u00f3meno de activaci\u00f3n. Inicialmente se ha completado la descripci\u00f3n del fen\u00f3meno de activaci\u00f3n telom\u00e9rica adem\u00e1s de caracterizarse una poblaci\u00f3n no inductora.  el estudio de la organizaci\u00f3n telom\u00e9rica se ha realizado por medio de una minigenoteca obtenida por microclonaje del tel\u00f3mero derecho del cromosoma iii, por an\u00e1lisis de restricci\u00f3n sobre adn gen\u00f3mico y por pcr. Esta aproximaci\u00f3n ha dado como resultado una nueva variante de la secuencia telom\u00e9rica y la observaci\u00f3n de que cada variante es dominante en un tel\u00f3mero.  por \u00faltimo, se ha detectado la presencia de un elemento de respuesta a choque t\u00e9rmico (hsf). Este elemento es capaz de unir el factor espec\u00edfico de choque (hsf) in vitro.
