Dada la importancia de la reactividad glial en la evoluci\u00f3n de una lesi\u00f3n,la caracterizaci\u00f3n de los posibles factores inductores y de sus productos de secreci\u00f3n pueden ayudar a entender los mecanismos de degeneraci\u00f3n neuronal y permitir, en un futuro, actuar sobre el metabolismo  de las c\u00e9lulas gliales, como diana terap\u00e9utica, para modular su actividad en situaciones patol\u00f3gicas.  en este sentido, el objetivo principal de la presente tesis fue la caracterizaci\u00f3n de la afectaci\u00f3n neuronaly la reactividad astro glial y microglial asociadas a un proceso degenerativo inducido mediante la inyecci\u00f3n de la excitotoxina n-metil-d-aspartato nmda en la corteza cerebral inmadura produce una degeneraci\u00f3n neuronal primaria por exitotoxicidad dentro del \u00e1rea de inyecci\u00f3n, la cual viene acompa\u00f1ada de una importante reactividad glial y una discrupci\u00f3n de la barrera hematoencef\u00e1lica.  la respuesta neuronal al proceso excitot\u00f3xico se caracteriza, durante las primeras horas, por la sobreactivaci\u00f3n del factor de trasncripci\u00f3n nuclear factor kappa b (nfkb), la expresi\u00f3n de la citocina interleucina-6 (il-6) y de los genes c-fos y c-jun, as\u00ed como una subexpresi\u00f3n del factor inhibidor del crecimiento o metalotioneina iii (gif (mt-iii). Todos estos cambios preceden la muerte neuronal masiva a las 24 horas post-lesi\u00f3n.  en la zona cortical de degeneraci\u00f3n primaria, las c\u00e9lulas microgliales sufren r\u00e1pidos cambios morfol\u00f3gicos que anteceden a la expresi\u00f3n de los complejos mayores de histocompatibilidad tipo i y ii (mhc i y mhc ii) as\u00ed como a la expresi\u00f3n de la citocina interleucina-1 beta (il-1b). La respuesta astroglial se caracteriza por cambios de expresi\u00f3n g\u00e9nica muy temprana, con activaci\u00f3n de los factores de transcripci<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la
