Se presenta la caracterizacion de estructura secundaria mas detallada hasta el momento de un rapg. Se caracteriza tambien la forma activada del receptor. Se delimitan los cambios que en ultima instancia determinan la forma activada; a la vista de estos, se propone que el evento que conduce a la activacion no es la acomodacion de la isomerizacion del retinal, si no la rotura del puente salino del enlace base de schiff protonada.  se estudian finalmente los efectos estructurales y funcionales de la reduccion del puente disulfuro conservado en posicion homologa en el conjunto de los rapg, deduciendose un papel clave en el mantenimiento de la correcta geometria de la base de schiff (helice transmembrana 7) y su contraion glu-113 (helice
