Los microorganismos que viven en estos ecositemas deben adaptarse a condiciones que son extremas para la vida.  hasta el momento, se conoce parte de la biodiversidad de estos tapetes, su din\u00e1mica y el estado nutricional de las poblaciones m\u00e1s importantes de estas comunidades.  el objetivo del presente trabajo es incrementar el conocimiento que actualmente se tiene sobre la biodiversidad de cianobacterias, mediante estudios \u00abin situ\u00bb, y determinar las variaciones de biomasa de los diferentes morfotipos de este grupo de microorganismos, mediante microscop\u00eda scanning l\u00e1ser confocal clsm. Las fluctuaciones de biomasa total (abril de 1997 a mayo de 1998), mostraban un valor m\u00e1ximo en el mes de julio de 1997 de 8,86 mgc\/cm2 y un valor m\u00ednimo de 2,05 mgc\/cm2 en el mes de febrero de 1998. Por \u00fatlimo los valores de biomasa m\u00e1s altos corresponden al morfotipo 2 (microcoleus chthonoplastes). Este microorganismo se distribuye por todo la zona pigmentada y aunque mayoritariamente se encuentra en la zona oxig\u00e9nica 36,59 mgc\/cm3 tambi\u00e9n puede encontrase en la anoxig\u00e9ncia.  el clsm es un m\u00e9todo id\u00f3neo para analizar las poblaciones microbianas de ecosistemas bent\u00f3nicos estratificados. Dicho microscopio permite estudiar los tapetes microbianos sin la necesidad de seccionar las muestras, evitando el uso de largos y exhaustivos protocolos y da im\u00e1genes sin ruido de fondo, adem\u00e1s mediante su uso se ha podido reconsturir bi- y tridimensionalmente la estructura del tapete.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis doctoral
