Mes\u00f3filas de serotipos o:13. o:3, o:34 y o:44 a diferente temperatura y osmolaridad suponen cambios en el lipopolisac\u00e1rido (lps) y en la virulencia de las cepas estudiadas. el efecto de la influencia de la osmolaridad s\u00f3lo puede ser observado cuando la temperatura de incubaci\u00f3n ese 37\u00c2\u00bac y no se observa a 20\u00c2\u00bac. El lps purificado de las celulas crecidas  a 20\u00c2\u00bac (alta o baja osmolaridad) o a 37\u00c2\u00bac con alta osmolaridad presenta antigeno o mientras que el de las celulas crecidas a 37\u00c2\u00bac con baja osmolaridad carece del mismo. Las cepas con ant\u00edgeno o en su lps son resistentes a la actividad bactericida del suero no inmune, se adhieren mejor a celulas hep-2 y presentan una menor dl50 en truchas y ratones.  por otra parte, la caracterizaci\u00f3n genetica del cluster wb del antigeno o:34 esta constituida por 17 genes implicados en la biosintesis de este antigeno.
