En la actualidad, esta zona de incandescencia se genera mediante la introducci\u00f3n de un dispositivo ubicado en la culata del motor (buj\u00eda de precalentamiento), cuya temperatura se incrementa mediante el paso de una corriente el\u00e9ctrica, el cual se emplea \u00fanicamente en una condici\u00f3n puntual de funcionamiento como es el arranque. La erradicaci\u00f3n de la bujias de precalentamiento de la c\u00e1mara de combusti\u00f3n permitir\u00eda mejorar las condiciones en las que se desarrolla el proceso de combusti\u00f3n, puesto que se eliminar\u00eda un volumen que distorsiona el movimiento del aire en el interior del cilindro. Por otro lado, la eliminaci\u00f3n de este dispositivo, liberar\u00eda un espacio en la culata del motor que facilitar\u00eda una mayor libertad en la ubicaci\u00f3n y tama\u00f1o de las v\u00e1lvulas de admisi\u00f3n y escape, e inyector. este \u00faltimo aspecto es fundamental, si consideramos que la cont\u00ednua evoluci\u00f3n de los sistemas de inyecci\u00f3n, posibilitar\u00e1 el dise\u00f1o de motores diesel de inyecci\u00f3n directa m\u00e1s rapidos, en los que ser\u00e1 conveniente incrementar el n\u00famero de v\u00e1lvulas de admisi\u00f3n, con el fin de mejorar su comportamiento a elevados reg\u00edmenes de giro. El objetivo de esta tesis se centra en el dise\u00f1o de un sistema auxiliar de arranque, que permita erradicar las actuales buj\u00edas de precalentamiento de la c\u00e1mara de combusti\u00f3n de los motores diesel de inyecci\u00f3n directa de peque\u00f1a cilindrada unitaria.  de entre los distintos sistemas alternativos a las bujias de precalentamiento, empleados en los motores diesel para el
