Nuestro principal objetivo consisti\u00f3 en hacer un diagn\u00f3stico de la situaci\u00f3n del tr\u00e1fico en logro\u00f1o y los municipios de su comarca.  son nueve los cap\u00edtulos en los que se ha estructurado esta investigaci\u00f3n. en primer lugar, incluimos una introducci\u00f3n en la que presentamos el esquema de trabajo y los objetivos que pretend\u00edamos cubrir en la misma. En segundo lugar, analizamos la oferta de carreteras y ferrocarriles en espa\u00f1a e intentamos conocer en qu\u00e9 situaci\u00f3n se encuentra la rioja tras el plan director de infraestructuras (1993-2007) y el plan de transporte ferroviario (1987-2000). tras este cap\u00edtulo, nos adentramos en la escala urbana y pusimos de manifiesto las transformaciones experimentadas por las ciudades haciendo especial hincapi\u00e9 en el incremento de la demanda de transporte y sus consecuencias. a partir de este momento, presentamos el \u00e1rea de estudio y justificamos el porqu\u00e9 de no haberla reducido exclusivamente al \u00e1mbito urbano habiendo incluido el espacio periurbano as\u00ed como algunos municipios que salen fuera de esta franja, pero que forman parte de la comarca de logro\u00f1o. La metodolog\u00eda a trav\u00e9s de la cual hemos realizado nuestro trabajo ocupa un nuevo cap\u00edtulo, en el que tambi\u00e9n ponemos de manifiesto los obst\u00e1culos que hemos encontrado en el camino.  el cap\u00edtulo sexto constituye el n\u00facleo central de la tesis. En \u00e9l se han analizado en profundidad la poblaci\u00f3n (edad, sexo, densidad, nivel de instrucci\u00f3n, categor\u00eda socio-profesional, nivel de renta, tasa de motorizaci\u00f3n, etc.), El planeamiento del transporte dentro del marco del plan general de ordenaci\u00f3n urbana, el an\u00e1lisis de la red a trav\u00e9s del m\u00e9todo de grafos, as\u00ed como la intensidad y din\u00e1mica del tr\u00e1fico en la ciudad (en definitiva, la organizaci\u00f3n y distribuci\u00f3n de los flujos de tr\u00e1fico), haciendo especial hincapi\u00e9 en el \u00e1rea central, en
