Consuelo <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Listeria monocytogenes es un cocobacilo gram+, intracelular facultativo capaz de causar graves afecciones en individuos inmunosuprimidos, mujeres embarazadas y neonatos, luego de la ingesta de alimentos contaminados con este microorganismo.  el primer sitio invadido por l. Monocytogenes es el intestino. Dependiendo de la respuesta inmune del hu\u00e9sped listeria puede llegar y diseminarse por via sanguinea o linfatica a organos tan importantes como el h\u00edgado, bazo, cerebro y atravesar la placenta, produciendo graves afecciones tales como meningitis, encefalitis y abortos. El objetivo de esta tesis doctoral fue hacer estudios de invasi\u00f3n y multiplicaci\u00f3n de la listeria en l\u00edneas celulares que representan estos organos diana. Para ello utilizamos hepatocitos hep-g2, c\u00e9lulas intestinales caco-2, neuroblastomas n2a y neuronas adultas extraidas de los ganglios de raiz dorsal. Ensayando a su vez 4 cepas de l. Monocytogenes importantes por su capacidad para producir altas unidades de hemolisina (listeriolisina o), mayor factor de virulencia de l.Monocytogenes. las 4 cepas escogidas (lo28, egd-a, p14 y p14-a) presentaron niveles altos de invasi\u00f3n y citotoxicidad en los tres huespedes infectados, encontrando que en neuroblastomas n2a no solo tiene la capacidad de invadir el citoplasma celular sino tambi\u00e9n el n\u00facleo. La mayor citotoxicidad producida sobretodo por las cepas egd-a y p14-a, produjeron muerte celular por apoptosis en altos porcentajes en las tres l\u00edneas celulares usadas siendo menor en infecciones hechas con la cepa lo28 y p14, resultado demostrado morfol\u00f3gica, bioqu\u00edmica y molecularmente.  concluyendo que la principal arma que usa este patogeno en la inducci\u00f3n de dicha muerte celular es la listeriolisina o.  por otro lado l.
