Actualmente s\u00f3lo se dispone de el sistema cre\/loxp derivado del bacteri\u00f3fago p1 perteneciente a la familia int.  los datos presentados en esta memoria demuestran que la prote\u00edna procariota recombinasa beta puede ser expresada de forma estable y funcional en l\u00edneas celulares eucariotas, presentando una gran avidez por el compartimento nuclear y localiz\u00e1ndose mayoritariamente en regiones heterocromat\u00ednicas. la actividad de la recombinasa beta es capaz de actuar tanto sobre sustratos epis\u00f3micos como integrados en cromat\u00edna y de forma adicional se ha demostrado que la sobreexpresi\u00f3n moderada de la prote\u00edna recombinasa beta es compatible con la viavilidad celular. Por encima de unos m\u00e1rgenes parece inducir efectos nocivos.  el trabajo tambi\u00e9n recoge el desarrollo y an\u00e1lisis preliminar del primer modelo de aplicaci\u00f3n in vivo. Se han desarrollado l\u00edneas de ratones transg\u00e9nicos que continen integradas en su gen\u00f3ma un n\u00famero variable de copias de una construcci\u00f3n sustrato y otras l\u00edneas transg\u00e9nicas que sobreexpresan la recombinasa beta espec\u00edficamente en el timo. Los resultados obtenidos tras el cruce de ambos tipos de animales transg\u00e9nicos no han permitido, por el momento, demostrar la funcionalidad del sistema in vivo. Asumimos que el principal problema deriva de la integraci\u00f3n de los transgenes en zonas transcripcionalmente inactivas, y en consecuencia el trabjo recogido en esta memoria ha abierto nuevas
