Este fen\u00f3meno se debe a la viscoelasticidad tisular, que a veces puede estar contaminada por el efecto del pendelluft. La viscoelasticidad tisular puede representarse mec\u00e1nicamente por el cuerpo de maxwell.  formulaci\u00f3n del problema: este modelo no ha sido evaluado en ni\u00f1os y solo es capaz de explicar el comportamiento de la relajaci\u00f3n de la tensi\u00f3n cuando se insuflan vol\u00famenes corrientes peque\u00f1os en pacientes sin enfecmedad pulmonar y sin peep. Se desarrolla la idea de que la elastancia del componente el\u00e1stico del cuerpo de maxwell no es constante sino que var\u00eda en relaci\u00f3n con su volumen de carga.  objetivo: demostrar, en ni\u00f1os sometidos a ventilaci\u00f3n mec\u00e1nica con y sin patolog\u00eda del sistema respiratorio, que la elastancia del elemento acumulativo de energ\u00eda del componente visco\u00e9lastico, var\u00eda en relaci\u00f3n con su volumen de deformaci\u00f3n, de manera que su tasa de variaci\u00f3n es directamente proporcional a su volumen de carga al menos a partir de un determinado volumen de distensi\u00f3n.  desarrollo del modelo matem\u00e1tico: a partir de esta idea de una elastancia volumen-dependiente se desarrolla modificaci\u00f3n del modelo l\u00edneal de maxwell compuesto por un sistema de ecuaciones no-lineales, con 4 par\u00e1metros.  hip\u00f3tesis operativa: el modelo matem\u00e1tico es v\u00e1lido.  validaci\u00f3n del modelo: se fundamenta en un an\u00e1lisis pr\u00e1ctico de identificabilidad, en el estudio de la plausibilidad del modelo y en la evaluaci\u00f3n de su utilidad pr\u00e1ctica. El an\u00e1lisis de pr\u00e1ctico  de identificabilidad de los par\u00e1metros se realiza mediatne regresi\u00f3n no-lineal por ajuste a m\u00ednimos  cuadrados ponderados.  pacientes y metodos: los
