Se hace un inventario de todas las pel\u00edculas realizadas en los distintos pa\u00edses, clasific\u00e1ndolas no por la cronolog\u00eda de producci\u00f3n sino de los hechos representados, de modo que a trav\u00e9s de ellas podamos seguir la evoluci\u00f3n hist\u00f3rica de las zonas del continente vinculadas a la corona espa\u00f1ola.  tras una panor\u00e1mica general en la que se anlizan los peculiares enfoques est\u00e9ticos e ideol\u00f3gicos vinculados al lugar de origen de los distintos films espa\u00f1a, pa\u00edses iberoamericanos y pa\u00edses de habla no espa\u00f1ola, el cuerpo de la investigaci\u00f3n se estructura en cuatro grandes apartados: col\u00f3n, conquista, colonia e independencia. Los t\u00edtulos analizados son unos 200, lo que puede considearse la pr\u00e1ctica totalidad de la producci\u00f3n relacionada con el tema. Salvo excepciones que se se\u00f1alan en el texto, los comentarios son simpre fruto del visionado directo del film en custi\u00f3n. El apartado documental incluye filmograf\u00eda, bibliograf\u00eda y un ap\u00e9ndice iconogr\u00e1fico con un centenar de ilustraciones en blanco y negro y color, algunas tomadas directamente de la cinta.  la conclusi\u00f3n principal es que el cine no ha mostrado la historia de iberoam\u00e9rica con la misma asiduidad que otros acontecimientos hist\u00f3ricos mucho m\u00e1s concretos como son la guerra civil en estados unidos, las gestas del imperio brit\u00e1nico o la revoluci\u00f3n francesa. Los motivos principales son dos: por un lado la escasa repercusi\u00f3n internacional y bajo nivel industrial de la produccion f\u00edlmica de habla espa\u00f1ola, y por otro el riesgo de herir susceptibilidades nacionales al abordar determinadas cuestiones como el choque de culturas, el mestizaje o las luchas independentistas.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis
