La sustituci\u00f3n del ligando cloruro en dicho complejo permite preparar los derivados acetonitrilo e hidruro (os(n5-c9h7)(ncme)(pph3)2)+ y (os(n5-c9h7) h(pph3)2). La reacci\u00f3n de (os(n5-c9h7)h(pph3)2) con hbf4 conduce a la protonaci\u00f3n en el metal para formar el complejo dihidruro (os(n5-c9h7)(h)2(pph3)2)+.  por otro lado, el complejo dinuclear (ru2(u-(n5-c5h4)2sime2(co)2(u-co)2) reacciona con hal\u00f3genos para formar los derivados (ru2(u-(n5-c5h4)2sime2)x2(co)4), que a trav\u00e9s de reacciones de sustituci\u00f3n de carbonilos generan complejos con ligandos fosfina (ru2(u-(n5-c5h4)2sime2)cl2(co)3(pme3)) y (ru2(u-(n5-c5h4)2sime2)x2(co)2(pr3)2). tambi\u00e9n experimentan reacciones de sustituci\u00f3n de haluro para formar derivados metilo, acetonitrilo y alqunilo: (ru2(u-(n5-c5h4sime2) (ch3)(co)2(l)2), (ru2(u-(n5-c5h4)2sime2) (co)4(ncme)2)(bf)4)2 (ru2(c=cph)(u-(n5-c5h4sime2) i (co)4). La abstracci\u00f3n de haluro en los derivados (ru2(u-(n5-c5h4)2sime2)x2(co)4) enpresencia de un exceso de ag(bf4) da lugar a los complejos (ru2(u-(n5-c5h4)2sime2) (u-x)(co)4(bf)4). Del mismo modo, la extracci\u00f3n del ioduro en el complejo (ru2(u-(n5-c5h4)2sime2)i(co)4) da lugar al derivado alqunilo puente (ru2(u-n1; n2-c=cph)(u-(n5-c5h4)2sime2)(co)4)(bf4), que genera complejos vinilideno por ataque con li(cur2) sobre el carbono cb del alqunilo: (ru2(u-c=c(ph)c=cph)  (u-(n5-c5h4)2sime2) (co)2(u-co)) y (ru2(u-c=c(ph)me)(u-(n5-c5h4)2sime2)(co)2 (u-co)2). La activaci\u00f3n del acohol proparg\u00edlico hc=cc(oh)ph2 proel complejo (ru2(u-(n5-c5h4)2sime2)cl2(co)2(pme3)2) enpresencia de ag(bf4) permite formar el derivado alenilideno
