Cerevisiae y en n. Crassa. en este trabajo se ha identificado el hom\u00f3logo humano del receptor \u00abmaster\u00bb mitocondrial tom20 y se ha caracterizado su gen asi como su familia de pseudogenes procesados utilizando t\u00e9cnicas basados en pcr y secuenciaci\u00f3n. el gen htom20 abarca 20 kb y presenta 4 intrones y 5 exones. E1 promotor no presenta cajas tatad ni ccaat y s\u00ed esta integrado en una isla cpg que abarca tambi\u00e9n el ex\u00f3n 1 y las primeras bases del intr\u00f3n 1. Asi pues, la identificaci\u00f3n del gen htom20 y su familia de pseudogenes procesados establece las bases para el estudio del origen de enfermedades mitocondriales en los que se sospecha un defecto
