Los resultados mas importantes de este trabajo han sido los siguientes:  &#8211; se ha desarrollado una nueva via de procesamiento para la obtencion de mezclas homogeneas de polvos de alumina con plaquetas.  &#8211; la formacion de defectos debida a la sinterizacion bimodal, se reduce mediante la incorporacion de y-zro2 o mediante la aplicacion de energia adicional al sistema.  &#8211; la presencia de plaquetas de sic provoca el reforzamiento del material, aumentando tanto la tenacidad como la resistencia al choque termico. Ademas tiene lugar la aparicion de comportamiento curva-r.  &#8211; peque\u00f1as diferencias en el contenido de impurezas determinan la microestructura, las tensiones residuales, las caracteristicas de la interfase matriz-plaqueta y, por lo tanto, el comportamiento mecanico de los materiales de a1203\/sic-p1.  &#8211; el mecanismo de triboelectrificacion determina la transicion desgaste
