Este receptor pertenece a la familia de receptores de siete dominios transmembrana acoplados a prote\u00ednas g. Hasta el momento se sabe poco acerca de las posibles interacciones que existen entre receptores de la superficie celular y prote\u00ednas citoplasm\u00e1ticas, extracelulares o prote\u00ednas de mambrana. En esta tesis se describe la interacci\u00f3n del receptor a1 de adenosina con un conjunto de prote\u00ednas que regulan su funcionalidad.  el receptor a1 interacciona con el enzima adenosina desaminsas ada. a trav\u00e9s de esta interacci\u00f3n, e independientemente de su actividad catal\u00edtica, la ada modifica la afinidad del receptor hacia sus ligandos. Adem\u00e1s se ha observado que la adicic\u00f3n de ada en el medio extracelular acelera la internalizaci\u00f3n inducida por agnosta del receptor a1 de tal manera que se produce una internalizaci\u00f3n conjunta de ambas mol\u00e9culas a trav\u00e9s de caveolas. No obstante,llega un momento en que el receptor y la enzima se segregan y reciclan hacia la superficie celular a trav\u00e9s de rutas diferentes ya que el receptor recicla atrav\u00e9s de ves\u00edculas revestidas mientras que la ada recicla a trav\u00e9s de caveolas.  el receptor a1 de adenosina interacciona tambi\u00e9n con la prote\u00edna de estr\u00e9s t\u00e9rmico hsc73. A trav\u00e9s de esta interacci\u00f3n la hsc73 disminuye la afinidad del receptor a1 hacia sus ligandos, efecto que es revertido por la ada.  el estudio de la interacci\u00f3n del receptor a1 con prote\u00ednas de membrana se ha llevado a cabo en el cerebro, en el cual la adenosina es un importante modulador. As\u00ed, se ha caracterizado la expresi\u00f3n del receptor a1 de adenosina en cultivos primarios de neuronas de c\u00f3rtex cerebral de rata y se ha observado que en este sistema del receptor
