Mar Alonso Monge Rebeca <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>El incremento de infecciones por candida albicans ha impulsado en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os el estudio de esta levadura con el fin de conocer su fisiolog\u00eda para establecer nuevas dianas en la b\u00fasqueda de antif\u00fangicos. C. Albicans forma parte de la flora normal del ser humano pero, en determinadas circunstancias, es capaz de producir graves infecciones sist\u00e9micas, a menudo fatales para el enfermo inmunodeprimido. Este paso de microorganismo comensal a pat\u00f3geno se debe a cambios en el medio en el que c. Albicans habita. Las rutas de transducci\u00f3n de se\u00f1ales mediadas por prote\u00ednas quinasas map son el principal mecanismo por el que las c\u00e9lulas eucariotas son capaces de responder a variaciones en el medio externo.  la interrupci\u00f3n del gen hog1 en c. Albicans que codifica una prote\u00edna quinasa map ha permitido caracterizar la funci\u00f3n que esta prote\u00edna ejerce en c. albicans. La carencia de cahog1p supone un retraso en el crecimiento y defectos en la segregaci\u00f3n celular en medios hiperosmolares. En este mismo sentido se ha demostrado que cahog1p es fosforilada(activada) en presencia de alta concentraci\u00f3n de sales en el medio externo lo que corrobora la hip\u00f3tesis de que esta prote\u00edna media la respuesta a estr\u00e9s osm\u00f3tico. Asimismo, c. Albicans acumula glicerol en respuesta a estr\u00e9s osm\u00f3tico y que hog1p es necesaria para mediar esta respuesta.
