Para ello, se ha caracterizado el gen oxyr de la bacteria pat\u00f3gena erwinia chrysanthemi. Un mutante oxyr de esta cepa ha sido construido por recombinaci\u00f3n hom\u00f3loga. Tras la inducci\u00f3n con dosis no letales de agua oxigenada, este mutante es m\u00e1s sensible al agua oxigenada y presenta reducidos los niveles de la actividad catalasa y glutaci\u00f3n reductasa, comparados con los de la cepa silvestre. El mutante oxyr es incapaz de formar colonias individuales en placas de agar. Sin embargo, mantiene el mismo grado de virulencia en tub\u00e9rculos de patata y hojas de tabaco. Estos resultados indican que la producci\u00f3n de agua oxigenada por el hospedador no tiene un efecto directo antimicrobiano en la interacci\u00f3n de la bacteria erwinia chrysanthemi con estas dos especies de plantas.  en segundo lugar se ha realizado una tipificaci\u00f3n molecular y caracterizaci\u00f3n de cepas de la bacteria pat\u00f3gena brenneria quercina aisladas en diversas masas
