Sin embargo; solamente en el norte de la peninsula iberica existen 2 modos reproductivos alternativos, el viviparismo estricto y el viviparismo opcional. La tesis desarrolla desde un punto de vista multidisciplinar (biolog\u00eda molecular; del desarrollo, genetica de poblaciones, microevolucion, adquisicion de novedades evolutivas, macroevolucion, adaptacion, exaptacion y diferencias comportamentales) el surgimiento de estos dos modos reproductivos derivados.  de este modo la tesis abarca a traves de distintos analisis practicos; problemas teoricos relacionados con la generacion de un patron reproductivo caracteristico de taxones de rango superior (la independencia de los vertebrados del medio acuatico).
