Los interruptores de potencia, como parte de cualquier red electrica, estan representados por modelos que deben garantizar una correcta representaci\u00f3n del arco electrico que se forma durante la operaci\u00f3n de cierre o apertura del interruptor. actualmente, existen en funcionamiento distintos tipos de interruptores operando a distintos niveles de tensi\u00f3n. Este trabajo consiste en el desarrollo de una metodolog\u00eda capaz de ser utilizada a cualquier nivel de tensi\u00f3n y en los tipos m\u00e1s habituales de interruptores de potencia, a partir de los datos obtenidos en ensayos de cortocircuito. Se presentan los modelos matematicos mas usuales, junto con una nueva forma de tratar el comportamiento de los parametros involucrados a traves de su implementaci\u00f3n en un programa de simulaci\u00f3n. La realizaci\u00f3n de ensayos en laboratorio ha permitido extrapolar la metodolog\u00eda hacia otros niveles de tensi\u00f3n, corriente y tipo de interruptor, los cuales demostraron un total aplicabilidad tanto de los programas de calculo, que han sido especialmente confeccionados, como de los modelos matematicos empleados en las simulaciones respectivas. Mas alla de la teoria desarrollada, la utilidad practica de este trabajo radica en brindar una nueva herramienta para el analisis del comportamiento de los interruptores de forma metodica, que permita
