La hipotesis general de este trabajo es que el estudio detallado de las caracteristicas anatomopatologicas y geneticas del cg puede aportar informacion pronostica adicional sobre estos tumores al mismo tiempo que permite profundizar en el conocimiento de su base molecular. La primera parte del trabajo esta basada en una serie de 94 cg primarios que se clasifican seg\u00fan los criterios definidos en las clasificaciones de lauren, carneiro y una modificaci\u00f3n de lauren, con el objetivo de comprobar si estos sistemas de clasificaci\u00f3n aportan datos con significaci\u00f3n pronostica. Se demuestra que ninguno de los sistemas de clasificacion empleados aporta significacion pronostica aunque se observa que la clasificacion de carneiro mantiene en el estadio tumoral una asociacion estadisticamente significativa. El estudio molecular esta basado en una serie de 35 cg primarios de los que se dispone de material en fresco correspondiente a tumor y a mucosa sana. El tejido tumoral se microdiseccion\u00f3 para garantizar mutaciones puntuales del gen c-k-ras en los codones 12 y 13 mediante la tecnica de sscp-pcr, perdida de heterocigosidad (loh) del gen p53 amplificando dos marcadores intragenicos y la presencia de sobreexpresion de la proteina p53 amplificando dos marcadores intragenicos y la presencia de sobreexpresion de la proteina p53 mediante inmunohistoquimica con el anticuerpo del clon do7,loh de la banda de cromosoma 18 18q21 amplificando 5 marcadores, dos de ellos intragenicos al gen dcc y la exprecion de la proteina dcc por inmunohistoquimica con el anticuerpo del clon g97-449, presencia de diferenciacion neuroendocrina con el estudio inmunohistoquimico de la expresion de cromogranina a con el anticuerpo del clon lk2h10,
