De la mettrie(1709-1751) como materialismo mecanicista, en la l\u00ednea del iatromecanicismo influido por descartes, esta tesis aborda el significado de una sugerente filosof\u00eda materialista-de influencia neospinozista- que entiende la materia, contra todo dualismo, como una substancia din\u00e1mica y sensible en el desarrollo de sus formas naturales, infinitamente recreada por la imaginaci\u00f3n del ser humano, cuya alma no es sino el principio de autoanimaci\u00f3n del cuerpo. dicha recreaci\u00f3n es el arte de gozar la vida como volupt\u00e9, sin represiones internas ni externas, en el \u00e1mbito de un lupt\u00e9, sin represiones internas ni externas, en el \u00e1mbito de un universo natural arm\u00f3nico y pr\u00f3ximo. Frente a la moral social, cuyos intereses son ajenos a la naturaleza, la mettrie proclama la necesidad de una liberaci\u00f3n est\u00e9tico-moral del individuo, reivindicando la urgencia de una reforma pol\u00edtica que promueva la oportuna virtud de la tolerancia.
