Los depositos de co presentan inicialmente una forma triangular de dos alturas atomicas, con una estructura atomica cubica centrada en las caras. Al ir aumentando el recubrimiento comienza la transicion hacia la estructura estable de volumen (hexagonal compacta) por medio de la introduccion de fallas de apilamiento a partir de la tercera capa.
