En el dise\u00f1o previsto, la bentonita y el hormig\u00f3n se consideran barreras de protecci\u00f3n. El objetivo de este trabajo es el estudio de la estabilidad de la bentonita en contacto con hormig\u00f3n. Para ello se estudio en primer lugar la estabilidad mineralogica de la bentonita en disoluciones alcalinas similares a las aguas li iviadas por el cemento durante su degradaci\u00f3n. Los procesos reactivos m\u00e1s importantes identificados son la formaci\u00f3n de esmectita magnesica, la formaci\u00f3n de ceolitas y la incorporaci\u00f3n de sodio en el complejo de cambio de la esmectita. El impacto de estos procesos en las propiedades de la bentonita es el incremento de su superficie especifica. En segundo lugar, se estudio la estabilidad de la bentonita en contacto con un mortero de cemento bajo un flujo de agua. el resultado m\u00e1s importante de esta etapa es que el cemento de bajo contenido en alcalis produce un impacto mayor en la bentonita que el cemento de alto contenido en alcalis ya que aumenta la permeabilidad de la bentonita y disminuye su superficie
