Se ha llevado a cabo un estudio sobre las condiciones cataliticas de reaccion y se han aislado algunos complejos de pd. Se ha llevado una aproximacion a la sintesis de la geigerona. Sin embargo, la sintesis no se ha completado debido a que los sustratos alilicos precursores no ciclan en ninguna de las condiciones ensayadas debido probablemente a su impedimento esterico.  se ha descubierto una nueva reaccion de oxidacion de alcoholes alilicos para formar compuestos carbonilicos insaturados utilizando cantidades cataliticas de paladio en presencia de fosfinas y oxigeno atmosferico. La reaccion ocurre en disolventes no acidos con rendimientos moderados, tanto con alcoholes primarios como secundarios, y en algunos casos se observa la formacion de los correspondientes eteres dialilicos. Se ha demostrado que la adicion de michael catalizada por ru no esta restringida a nucleofilos que contengan nitrilos.
