La sensibilidad al contraste o el enmascaramiento. Estos modelos var\u00edan en complejidad, desde un modelo monocanal simple a modleos multicanal en los que el dise\u00f1o de los m\u00faltiples canales se realiza de distinta forma.  asimismo se han desarrollado diferentes m\u00e9todos de distorsi\u00f3n objetivos, una derivada de cada modelo de representaci\u00f3n, exhaustivamente restadas.  finalmente y como aplicaciones de los modelos y m\u00e9todos se ha aplicado la metodolog\u00eda en primer lugar a la detectabilidad de objetos en escenas complejas. En este caso, la m\u00e9trica de distorsi\u00f3n se utilizar para medir la visibilidad de un objeto en una escena comparando dos im\u00e1genes una de las cuales posee el objeto y la otra es la misma imagen sin el objeto.  en segundo lugar se han utilizado los modelos para medir la calidad de im\u00e1genes comprimidas. Se muestra que las m\u00e9tricas se comportan de forma consistente en la evaluaci\u00f3n de calidad de im\u00e1genes manogr\u00e1ficas comprimidas, utilizando distintos algoritmos de compresi\u00f3n
